INSPIRATION ANYONE?

Lately, I haven't had any desire to stamp or create or clean or well, just about anything.  This is pretty indicative of this time of year.  The end of summer always makes me want to drag my feet, cross my arms and pout.  I don't want it to be over.  I love being home everyday with my kids.  I love corn on the cob.  I love stamping the day away.  I love swimming... you catch my drift.  So, when my sweet and super-talented friend Anne asked me to join her in making sample for today's Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers, I was ecstatic.  I took one look at the Patina website and loved it.  I had a hard time picking just one piece - so I made two!
The first thing I made was this card.  I was inspired by this Teal Botanical Pillow.

Next, I made a mixed media frame.I was inspired by this Green Tube Vase. Everytime I saw it I thought of some crayon art that I saw on Pinterest. I decided to combine the  two to create this mixed media frame.
I melted the crayons with an embossing gun, added some orange, silk poppies, bling and stamped that cute little bee.

Thanks for looking. I hope you can join us today with this challenge!!

Get Your Hambo On...

I'm back for another Hambo Hoedown - Yeeeeeee Haw!  This week, Judy challenged us to use a scoring tool on our cards.  I LOVE the way this looks and often forget this technique when stamping.  I decided that since Monica is starting with a 'Best in Show' award for the stamper who best represents this challenge, I had to use Trophy Sheep - #3201 for today's challenge.  Look at this cute lil' sheep.  I just love it!

For the card, I used my scor-pal and bone folder to score deep ridges diagonally across my card base.  I can't wait to see all of the creative goodness everyone comes up with this week for the Hoedown.  So, pull out your favorite Hambo stamps and score tool, then get busy!

Details about my card...
Stamps:  HAMBO - Trophy Sheep #3201, 4 Ewe Sentiment #3205
Paper:  Georgia Pacific white card base, everything else SU!
Ink:  Jet Black Stazon, SU! markers
Embellishments:  SU! Chocolate Chip ribbon
Tools:  Scor-Pal, bone folder, nestabilities, oval punches

Thank you for stopping by ... hope to see you at the Hoedown!

Happy Birthday, Monica!

It's a Surprise Birthday Hop for Monica Hunter! Monica is the owner of Hambo Stamps and tomorrow is her birthday. A few of us got together and decided to throw a little surprise party for her, and we would like you to join us! If you arrived here via Jenn Cochran's blog (the beginning of this blog hop), you are in the right place.  Every birthday has to have presents, and this one has one for you! One random hopper that completes the hop will receive a Hambo Birthday surprise! The winner will be announced at the Hambo Hoedown on Wednesday, August 17.

My project was made using the Hambo Mushrooms (#2902) on the outside and Real Fun-Gal (#2909) sentiment on the inside.  I stamped my image with Jet Black Stazon ink colored with an aquapainter and dye inks.  I went around the outline of the image with a Sakura JellyRoll Clear Star pen for a little shimmer.  I added some Dot Sparkerlers in silver by Stampendous to the mushrooms.
