TWO TURTLES, TWO DOVES..

THE TWELVE DAYS OF FUNKY CHRISTMAS - DAY 6

These are for the Twelve Days of Christmas Challenge over on Paper Craft Planet. The Challenge for today was to create a card with either two doves or two turtles... so, naturally I did both. Thanks for looking!

Have you heard? Santa had to lay the reindeer off. What with the price of grain and molasses, the turtles were MUCH cheaper... but somehow, I don't think this is gonna fly this year. They are currently doing some test flights around the north pole, but the poor little turtle's shells are sooo heavy, and their legs soooo short. Where, oh where is Rudolph.. oh that's right.. busy playing Reindeer Games with the Elves.

REINDEER GAMES

THE TWELVE DAYS OF FUNKY CHRISTMAS - DAY 4
I made this for Friday's Limited Supply Challenge. We were to use 'chocolate' in some sort of way, either paper, images, etc... I have chocolate chip cardstock on this and Rudolph is colored with chocolate chip as well.
And if you really want to know... it is those crazy elves who are always causing trouble at the reindeer games and getting those silly deer in trouble. Just take a look and you'll see what I mean. It's all fun and games until somebody gets stuck in the chimney!
Thanks for looking.

JOYFUL SINGING

The Twelve Days/Posts of Funky Christmas - Day/Post 2
Yes.. it's true.. I love the Funky Christmas stamp set I won from GinaK. What is not to love. Check out these fabulous carolers. Aren't they just the grooviest! I used Wednesday's Sketch Challenge from SCS. I stamped the image in stazon onto glossy cs, stamped snowflakes in white craft, then embossed with clear ep, sponged the bg. I used a permanet pen to draw the line for the ground.
Check back tomorrow for a card created using another cool stamp from this set.
Thanks for looking!

NOT MY FAVORITE, BUT...

It really is a cool technique, and a great way to show off your Designer paper.

FABULOUS TIME HAD BY ALL...

We spent this past weekend with family in Chatham, NJ. We had a wonderful visit with my SIL Karen and her dh, Bryant. We took a train into the city on Saturday to see Cirque du Soleil's Wintuk show at the Wamu Theatre at Madison Square Garden. The show was terrific!! The kids were mesmerized by the entire production which ended with show falling from the ceiling over the entire audience! WOW! We are pumped and ready for the holidays. We stopped at the Crayola Factory on the way up and Cabellas on the return trip home. It was a nice way to break up the drive. In the city, we walked to the American Girl Store, bought the the pets that went with each of the girl's dolls. The sun came out as we arrived and I was able to take a snapshot of the Empire State Bldg. We also saw the tree in Rockafeller Center (in the process of being decorated). Several stores had already begun to decorate their windows for Christmas and we had fun looking at the fabulous decorations and colors that were simply amazing! It was so neat to see so many of the SU! in-colors on display *snort*! We also saw St. Patrick's Cathedral, took a cab ride that nearly gave me a heart attack and went to the Short Hills Mall back in NJ. Santa was there, so naturally (my kids who have no fear) and went right up to him and started rattling off the desires of their heart. Now that mall was perhaps the best mall I've ever been in. David and I were able to wander around in Williams-Sonoma without the kids. I would love to go back just to spend a day at that mall.
We shared some memories that we will not soon forget!

THANKS SNOW MUCH GINA K!

The Twelve Days/Posts of FUNKY CHRISTMAS - Day/Post 1
I made this card for GinaK.. using the stamp set, Funky Christmas, that I won from her over on PCP. Thanks Gina! I just love the set and look forward to using ALL of the stamps in the set. I thought the Funky Snowman went well with today's CC. This is also for a little group that I love to stamp with, the Double Dare Girls! This week Charlene, aka Liluvstampin, challenged us to emboss with sparkle and use some razzle, dazzle glitter on our cards. I stamped the snowflakes in craft white and embossed them with stardust transparent ep, I added some dazzlin' diamond to the top of the snowhill and the edges of the snowman for some razzle dazzle. Thank you for a fun challenge Charlene.

PCP SKETCHY CARDS

I made these cards for Tuesday's Color Challenge: Pacific Point, Certainly Celery, and Basic Gray. I wasn't sure how these colors would look together, but I LOVE it! The first cards is made using two stamps from the Friendship Blooms set from GinaK. I stamped the imaged twice, then cut out the red roses and popped them up. This technique is called paper tole and adds really nice dimension to cards (you can see it better in the close-up). I also stamped the image on basic gray and cut out the vase, then glued it onto the main image, this technique is called paper piecing. I colored the image with my aquapainter and several of the new SU! in-colors. Dots were added with Stampin' Write markers.

This card was made with an Elzybell image sent to me by my friend Cindy. I just love this cute little girl. Not to mention....BRRR! It has been cold here in VA. I am secretly hoping that it is a sign of snow to come and that this winter we will have at least a few good snow storms.
I love this song and just can't wait for the radio stations to start playing Christmas music... after all, It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Thanks for looking.

NYC...HERE WE COME...

The countdown has officially begun here at the Cole house. I am so excited about an upcoming family trip, that I can hardly think about anything else.. (Have you noticed all of the "happy" posts?) - LOL! Anyway, my dear sil, Karen and her hubby, Bryant, invited us (wild children included) up for a visit. They live in New Jersey, about 30 minutes outside of NYC via train. We are going to see Cirque du Soleil's Wintuck show at the WAMU theatre in Madison Sq. Garden. I can hardly breathe. I just love Cirque and any type of live performance show. DH took me to see Riverdance 3 times when their show started touring. There is nothing live a live orchestra. Our two oldest have been to Jersey to visit K&B, but we never made it into the city. They are so hyped! We will be stopping by the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA on our way up. Can't wait to make my own crayons - LOL! I hope to take MANY pics and post them when we return! I am sure I will see MANY things that will inspire me!

I'M A HAPPY CRAB!

I had mentioned on an earlier post about the Crab Festival we went to while visiting my parents for my Dad's birthday. I thought I would share a few photos from that trip. It was a beautiful day, and we had a great time with my parents.

Thanks for looking, and wishing you a "Happy Crab" kinda day!

This card is also for the DDC. This week Fran challenged us to use the beaching technique. The dragonfly was stamped/embossed on kiwi kiss, then bleached out. It is stamped with and popped up. I also used some HPH with the sentiment and colored it with a black sharpie.
