CHEERS!!

Happy New Year everyone.  This image cracks me up everytime I see it.  The look on her face is perfect considering she is holding a plunger.  So, out with the old and in with the new.  Here is hoping you have a blessed New Year that doesn't require much use of a plunger.  Cheers!

SAIL AWAY SKETCH...

I combined Judy's awesome sketch from yesterday's challenge along with today's **no white** challenge - a lot harder than I anticipated. I collected the little shells across the bottom while we were at the beach last week.

For the candle, I used my embossing gun to heat the outer layer of wax, then dipped it into sand.  I repeated this step over and over.  I added seashells and moss with my glue gun.  Next, I wrapped some twine around the top and added a charm.  I love this cute little sandy candle... a reminder of our vacation to the beach.

EEK!!! CRABS!!!

The crabs have finally arrived at the tea party. You know it is hard for them to travel when they can only go sideways, which makes synchronization all the more difficult.
Keep those toes up ladies - they have their pinchers at the ready and know how to use them!  If you have no idea what I'm refering to, the visit Cindy's blog to find out more about her Teapot Tuesday Challenge.

I used this week's sketch challenge (turned sideways to accomodate my sidewalking crabs) and today's Ways to Use It challenge by using my nestabilities for my die cut panel.  All challenges are at Splitcoaststampers.

Thanks for looking!

ARTISTIC ETCHINGS...

We made it back from a fabulous week with my parents! What a great time we had. As promised, I have some new goodies to share with you. While away, part of my SU! pre-order arrived and I have enjoyed looking through the new catalog. I must admit, the upcoming catalog is FABULOUS! Much better than last year's (I'll be happy to keep this one for an entire year!). I loved the new color renovation, excellent move bringing back some of my favorite old colors-thank for listening Shelli ;), I love many of the new dsp's, finally more ribbon choices (almost as in days of old), many of my old favorite stamps made it into the new catty along with some great new sets! Here is one of them. This is part of a new set called Artistic Etchings. I made this for a couple of this past week's challenges.
Inspiration Challenge 237, Sketch Challenge 285, and Ways to Use It 275: Ribbon. I LOVE ribbon. Black and white gingham is my favorite and usually on every card I make, but today I stepped out of my box and used polka dots...
Thanks for looking!

HOPE for 2010...

I made this 6x6 scrapbook page using several challenges from this past week: DDC (grid technique - on the image block), Color Challenge (handsome hunter, certainly celery, bermuda bay, with a touch of pink), Sketch Challenge, and today's Inspiration Challenge (I chose the Beefees picture). This is also the first challenge word for Patter Cross' 2010 Scripture Challenge II. A challenge word is issued every other Sunday, so that at the end of the year, I will have a 6x6 scrapbook full of scripture to treasure and share with my family.
My scripture reads: "May the God of HOPE fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with HOPE by the power of the Holy Spirit." ~ Romans 15:13

COW PILE AT THE TEA PARTY...

In case you didn't know. Mothermark is always having these wonderful tea parties on Tuesday..

Well, there has been quite the hubba-lub all over the Splitcoast Stampers gallery about M'udder'mark's tea party in California. It all started when Cindy invited everyone to Tosh's to have tea with the California cows. You can read all about it here.
So, everyone is headed to Tosh's for tea and apparently you have to bring your own cream! She will even show you how to milk your cow and give lessons on making your own cream.
There has been a heated discussion about who will be the star in the next California milk commercial and why California cows are so happy.. some say it has to do with the kind of 'hay' or 'grass' they eat... and that the cream they give is 'better quality' and 'like no udder'. You can see all of the Deleted Scenes from the auditions HERE.... ~ just blame it on that 'hay'.
I'm not sure about either, but I did see a major cow pile... who is gonna clean that up?!

To see the rest of the tea party attendees, click here.. some of them are quite talented and I'm eager to see who will win this vote.

GETTIN' MY "VERVE" ON!

I made this for Wednesday's sketch challenge. This is my very first card made using Verve stamps.. I must say.. they are a wonderful, high-quality acrylic. I decided to do some paper piecing with some dsp that I have had for years.

This is also for the SCS Fan Club Gallery... the theme is "firsts".. Way back when I worked for RE/MAX, we would hire the guy to come and bring the hot air balloon and fly it over the area as a form of advertising. The entire process it amazing. I was the one who helped chase the balloon, after all the guys weren't familiar with our area, roads, etc. So, I helped the chase driver keep up with the balloon and get to wherever it landed. It was so fun. I even had the opportunity to go up in it a time or two. If you've never ridden in a hot air balloon, then put it on your list of things to do. There is nothing else like it. It seems as though you are floating along in the clouds.
