COUNTING PIGS...

I LOVE this pig image! It is so cute - SQUEAL!!

This image pretty much sums up how fast I am at mailing out the tickle-a-teapotter cards! I have my postage stamps ready this time, so I plan to do better. Getting a lesson in counting should also help.
Hope pig makes it to school in time for the lesson. She just had her hooves polished with a nice shiny black and didn't want to mess them up in Mutnik's cowpies.. eewwww!!!! So, being the ingenious pig that she is, she decided to fly.

I used today's color challenge (just twisted it a bit) and the VLV Week 4 Sketch.

Flying Pig is a digi image from HAMBO Stamps. I typed the sentiment on my computer.

Thanks for looking!

I have been visiting  my parents the last few days.  Yesterday, we went out on the boat to New Point Comfort Lighthouse.  On the way we saw a massive pod of porpoise feeding.  Before we knew it, we were in the middle of all of the action.  It was very exciting to watch and the kids were so excited to see the porpoises jump up out of the water.  Needless to say, porpoise feeding = little to no fishing for us.  While trying to anchor the boat, I managed to get the propeller hung on a crabpot bouy.  Dad had to jump in and cut the line, we did tie it back.  After we sorted out that tangled up mess, we began to fish... and wait... and wait.. a tug.. a bigger tug.. reel it in.  DANG crab!  We did come away with a couple of Taylor Blues, a few mullet, and some tiny croakers.  We threw the croakers back.  I spent most of my time having my bait stolen by crabs ~sigh~.  After our second batch of squid mysteriously fell overboard, we decided it was time to head home.  Needless to say, it was an adventuresome trip.  The highlight being the porpoises.

SAIL AWAY SKETCH...

I combined Judy's awesome sketch from yesterday's challenge along with today's **no white** challenge - a lot harder than I anticipated. I collected the little shells across the bottom while we were at the beach last week.

For the candle, I used my embossing gun to heat the outer layer of wax, then dipped it into sand.  I repeated this step over and over.  I added seashells and moss with my glue gun.  Next, I wrapped some twine around the top and added a charm.  I love this cute little sandy candle... a reminder of our vacation to the beach.

SEAHORSE...

I love the look of monochromatic cards.  I made this card for this week's HAMBO Hoedown.  I used Seahorse and stamped it onto some designer paper with black craft ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I fussy cut it and glued it onto a dark brown nestability mat.  I added silver liquid pearls, silver La Mode buttons and silver twine.  This card is headed to Florida to cheer up a friend of a fellow teapotter.

Come join us at the Hoedown!

SAILING AWAY...

I made this card for today's Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge combined with the Technique Lover's Challenge - Patchwork on Split Coast Stampers.
I used my new Hambo Sailboat Frame stamp combined with the Sizzlin' Summer sentiment. I stamped my imaged twice, colored with my aquapainter and popped up the sail on dimensionals. I added some rope around the image and matted it on early espresso cardstock. I dusted off my sewing machine and stiched some brown thread over the patchwork background.
Thanks for looking.

FORGOTTEN SWEET DREAMS...

I used the Direct to Paper Technique featured this month combined with today's Free For All Challenge. Today we were supposed to pull-out that long forgotten 'must-have' stamp set that we never actually used. Well here is mine, Sweet Dreams by SU! ...and the Kaleidoscope Ink that SU! sold long ago.. Remember that! I couldn't believe that mine wasn't dried up - it's only about 8 years old - maybe older! No joke! I tried to make a rainbow. After I swiped my ink, I stamped the flower stamp in stazon across the bottom, added the sentiment panel with ribbon and a dangling dragonfly charm.

I think this sentiment is perfect for today's challenge... it could read: 'Sometimes on the way to a stamp, you get lost and find a better one.' haha!

Thanks for looking!

SIZZLIN' SUMMER...

I made this card for today's Hoedown Challenge.  Ahhhhh, can't you just feel the breeze!  This week is a sketch challenge with a twist.. The twist - the card must be masculine.  I used Hammock Pig with the sizzlin' summer sentiment, colored with my aqua painter and inks.  The hammock was paper pieced and the palm tree fronds were stamped twice and popped up on dimensionals.  This card is perfect on a hot day like today.  It is going to be 94 this afternoon with high humidiity - uuugh!  Makes me sizzle just thinking about it.

Head on over to the Hoedown blog to see what the rest of the bacon bits came up with for this challenge, including a new digi just perfect for Father's Day.  We sure would love for you to join us!

Thanks for looking and have a 'sizzlin' day!
