BLACK & WHITE SWAP... yeah, yeah, yeah..

...in my best Michael Jackson voice - LOL! That song pops into my mind everytime I think about this swap.. What a fun one! If you don't already know, I belong to a super group of SU Demos, we call ourselves the "Little Debbies"... or SULD. We get together once a month to discuss 'business' (ha), swap, and create a make-n-take. This month Delores hosted and chose black and white with a pop of color (optional). Aren't these cards fabulous! Lastly, is the Make-N-Take that Darlene aka IrishPrincess, shared with us. Isn't that treat bag cute! So, sending all my fellow SULDs smoochies and hugs, whether you be here in town or stampin' it UP! out on the West Coast! WOOT!, or up in NOVA, or even in the Cave - Jaime! WOOT!
Y'all have a Grrrreat day! ..yeah, yeah, yeah.....

DINO HAS STRIPES!

I made this for today's Ways to Use it Challenge - stripes, and yesterday's Sketch Challenge. I used several pieces of my Hawaiian dsp. I stamped Dino by Queen Kat Designs in stazon on to a striped piece, then used coordinating dsp for the half circle and rectangle panels, and solid colors for mats. I used my scallop edge punch on the rectangle panel and added brads to dino where he spots would normally be. I used my aquapainter with kiwi kiss and old olive ink for the grass, and to give dino some color. The ribbon is certainly celery grosgrain.

Additional Info

Paper: old olive, tangerine tango, chocolate chip, whisper white, Hawaiian Papaya dsp

WALLPAPER CARD...

This entire card (except the base, ribbon, and black panels) is made from wallpaper samples sent to me by my good friend Anne, aka Itsapassion. She sent all of the Dare girls samples to create with for the Doubledog Dare Challenge a couple of weeks ago. I'm sorry this is late Anne... but it sure was fun, and I love the way this turned out!

NO PARKING BABY, NO PARKING ON THE DANCE FLOOR...

Say what?
Well, I made this for the Doubledog Dare Challenge. Anne Harmon challenged us to make a humorous card. I was downstairs, piddlin' around, cleaning stuff up, and listening to the radio, while thinking about the challenge and wondering which stamp I would use. Well, this song came on, and immediately I thought of this stamp ( which takes forever to color)... but it is so worth it. I just love this image. I stamped it on the heavier weight GinaK PureLux cardstock (which is the go-to cardstock for CAS cards), colored parts of it red, and the Disco Queen in all red ( Anne's favorite color). Then I went over her dress, the balloons, and the cake icing with my Sakura glitter pen to give her some sparkle. I used some fabulous rhinestones sent from Anne Harada to make a disco ball (although DH didn't think it looked like one).. but hey, every dance party HAS to HAVE a disco ball, right!

Also, for your viewing pleasure I included the video to the original song by Midnight Star, that I found on YouTube. I hope you'll have a listen.. it is sure to put a smile on your face and a bounce in your step! And remember, "If you don't get a move on with that body.... I'll be forced to give you a ticket - so get with it!" - LOL!

A DINO-MITE BIRTHDAY!

Isn't he just the cutest little dinosaur! I love him.. I am a little confused, I am not sure if he is Dino or Gweedo. There are two dinosaurs in this set and I just love both of them. I needed a boy birthday card for a neighbor and love how this turned out. I took a strip of old olive, then used my scissors to cut tiny strips for a grassy look. I colored Dino with my aquapainter using my tangerine tango ink pad, then added some googlie eye. The sentiment is computer generated and popped up. I used my slot punch and attached the black gingham ribbon. Check back next Monday for a card featuring both Dino and Gweedo, plus some cool sand - yep, real sand you can put on your cards.
Thanks for looking.

This is out of my comfort zone because I love to color and use my aquapainter. I tend to shy away from solid images, because they just overwhelm me. I love the way the images from this set can stand alone or be combined.
