THREE CHEERS FOR HOLIDAY LINEUP!

I am making a couple of these cards in a box for a craft show I am participating in. I saw these little liquer-filled chocolate and just "had" to purchase them for a craft!! LOL!
I think these will make a great little gifts for the holiday party hostess! It is an actual card, so it can be written on inside.
Image is watercolored with the aqua painter.

DRUMHELLER'S ORCHARD AND A BIRTHDAY INVITE..

On Wednesday, my husband had the opportunity to go on a field trip with my daugher, Sarah, and the entire first grade class. They took a trip to Drumheller's orchard. Now, since my husband requested use of the camera, I had high hopes that he would return with lots of pictures. But true to the male species, he took a total of 7 pictures, and do you think Sarah is featured in any of them?!? No! However, he did take a picture of my friend Debbie on the tractor ride. She chaperoned her son's class. It was a cold and blustery day, but all in all, I think that the kids had a good time.

Lastly is the birthday invite that I made for Allison's birtday. She wants to have a cookout complete with campfire, roasted hotdogs and smores. We will also be completing a craft. I am praying for decent weather as this time of year you can have summer one day and winter the next!

OVER THE RIVER AND THROUGH THE WOODS

I have been painting a couple of birdhouses.. Remember that huge box of birdhouses my Mom brought to me back in the summer? Well, when she was here, she and I attempted to paint a few of them. This one was inspired by a dish that I saw in a craft catalog. I just love the rich, vibrant colors.. albeit, it is not finished - yet! I still want to add some dimension to the little houses that I painted along the sides, I think I need to shade them a little as they are looking "flat".

RAKS FROM MY FRIENDS...

I have been so bad about posting RAKS. I told myself a couple of weeks ago that I was going to try to do better about posting them. They are always such an incredible blessing and encouragement to me.

This first one is from my wonderful friend Debbie. She brought me this card last week along with a wonderful dinner that fed my family for two nights while I was sick. Let me tell you, I haven't had anyone bring me dinner since I gave birth, and why is it that it is so hard to recieve that type of kindness from someone? Well, I am forever grateful for her generosity.

The second card is from Kari. She sent this beautiful card to me in her SULD swaps for the Macho Man card swap I hosted (I will post those awesome cards soon).

And last, but never least, is the card from Cindy. This card was in her card swaps that she sent to me also. Thanks ladies, I just love these cards!

HELLO AGAIN, DDC AND VSN...

Well, hello again to all of my blogging buddies! Thanks for hanging in there while I waited to get my camera back from my parents. After they visited a couple of weekends ago, my DS and I came down with a super-nasty bug that knocked us off of our feet for a week! I am glad to finally be back to stamping and not feeling so miserable.
Thanks to Sylvia for tagging me. I am to list seven things about myself, which I will do at the end of this post.

First of all, I am happy to report that I have offically caught up on all of the DDC Challenges. Here they are in no particular order.

This is a CD Holder and this challenge was issued by Julia aka artystamper

This card is for the challenge issued by Anne aka jdmommy. She wanted us to do something with a envelope... which naturally turned into a letter to Santa from me. Hope he gets it *wink*

And, last but not least is the challenge from Joan Ervin. She wanted us to make something sweet and pink.

Tonight, I was also able to play along in a few of the Mini VSN Challenges. Here are those cards in no particular order.

Tomorrow I have some stamp-a-stack cards to share, and I will hopefully be able to make a card for the featured stamper.

Now...The Tag...Seven Odd/Weird Things About Me..

1. When I look at magazines, I read them back to front, not the same with books tho'.
2. When I get to laughing really hard, I snort. *embarassing*
3. I have a thing about keeping my hands clean, I wash them all of the time.
4. I have never colored my hair.
5. I have never had braces - check out my teeth.. they are pretty straight tho!
6. I was named after my Aunt Beverly, and I never had the chance to meet her.
7. I was the first girl at my High School to get a Letterman's jacket in Field Hockey - Go DUKES!

And I tag the following bloggahs... be sure to check out their blogs.. they have super stuff to share! It's ALL good!
1. Joan Ervin (Dirty Girl, I'm secretly hoping some of her dirt will rub off on me!) - Stamping with a Passion
2. Anne Harada (secret mastermind behind the whole DDC) - Everlasting Ink
3. Holly (my new bloggin buddy and super-talented stamper) - Hog Wild About Stamping

FOOD THAT IS FOLLOWED BY CONFESSION - OH MY!...

Well, as I mentioned a few posts earlier, I left my camera at my parent's house. Thank goodness they are coming on Friday and will be bringing it with them..*note to self, find batteries, have them charged and ready. Now, contrary to popular belief.. I have been stampin like there ain't no tomorrow.. just don't have any proof. I was able to take a couple or projects over to Debbie's house and take a couple of snapshops with her camera (those are the previous posts).

So, in lieu of something stamped to look at, I will share this fabulous Apple Dumpling recipe that my friend, Susan, forwarded to me. It comes from the Pioneer Woman Cooks blog.. so instead of repeating everything here. I will just connect you with THIS LINK. All I can say is that if it has Mountain Dew, 2 sticks of butter, and crescent rolls in the ingredients, then y'all know it HAS to be somethin' good! And... great day, if you are in Carolina.. well substitute that Mountain Dew with some SunDrop!

Apparently after partaking of this, you must immediately go to confession - per the Pioneer Lady's own words! mmmmm.. have mercy! Enjoy!

oH.. and Cindy Motherway aka Mothermark.. if you are reading this.. Pioneer lady has a tab on her sidebar for Cowboy and Cowgirl Food... just thought you'd like to know *wink*...seeing how you love the Wild West and all.

GINA K WCMD CHRISTMAS CARD CHALLENGE

I made these for Gina's WCM challenge. These are for service men/women who are away from home to send back to family/friends for the holidays. What a fabulous idea! I can't think of a better reason to make a card, can you? These were to be non-bulky so that they can mail easily (you know how nasty the PO can be about bumpy embellishments!) - perfect for the LSC challenge.I used the twig from Asela's Botanical Dreams set, added red berries with my marker, then put some crystal effects on them to give them some shine. You can also find some fabulous *NEW* Christmas sets by GinaK & friends HERE, and there is the always great offer FREE with 3. This is also for the DD FanClub... I love how bright and vivid these colors are in Stampin' Ups! new Ski Slope Designer Series paper. And, that kiwi kiss (my fave), as well as the other new in colors - fantastic!
You can read more about the challenge and how to play along HERE.
...cased the twig idea from Jennifer Buck, you can see her original card HERE.

A GREAT WEEKEND!

We had a great weekend! David, the kiddos, and I went to visit my parents this past weekend and celebrate Dad's birthday. It just so happened to coincide with the Crab Festival - hooray! We had fantastic weather and enjoyed being with family.. About 2.5 hours into our return trip home, my mom called to tell us that she found my camera - I left it on her desk!! I nearly hyperventilated! So, without a camera, I have no photos of all of the cool stuff I am making to share with you. *pout* So, just check back at the end of the month.. I should have some pics to share then.. even those of my folks sportin' the "crab hats" from the festival and the guy who couldn't clean the softshells fast enough for the hungry mob that wanted them - LOL! They were soooo tasty! mmmmmm!
Happy stamping.. and until then.. I'll just be blog hoppin'!
