SPRING STAMP SET SNEAK PEEK..

Well our little SULD group is so blessed to have Debbie as our leader. Debbie recently got back from Founder's Circle and shared with us what she learned and experienced. You can read more about that on her upcoming blog that she is working on. It is set to debut soon.
She shared with us a fabulous project that she made at Founder's with a new stamp set that will be available in the Spring/Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog. Then she had a smaller version of that very same Make-n-Take for us to create using the new stamp set which I LOVE! Here is the cool book we made, featuring the Simple Friendship stamp set (available in 2009)!!

SULD SEPTEMBER SWAP and A BAAAAD DOG!

Hello friends! I just couldn't hardly wait to share these awesome cards with you from the swap that I participate in every month with some of my favorite local, and not so local - Kari - Dragonfly Impressions) demonstrators. What a treat is was to have Kari with us for our SULD monthly meeting - all the way from California! I have chatted with her many times online and stalk her blog regularly. We had a great time. She and her SIL - Gaylen - The Daily Ink (another super talented demo) were sportin' their new SU! Aprons! I would totally love one of these for Christmas! *hint, hint* (Mom, if you're reading).. Now, Michelle hosted this swap and here were the requirements: Fall Colors/Theme, Use 1 or more SU! punches, SUO, and current.
Without further adieu.. here are the fabulous cards, I am sure you will be inspired!

Now, about that BAAAAD Dog. I look out of my window while I am typing this and what do I see.. Well see for yourself! Can you believe it! And then she wants to come inside with that face - what nerve!

COLOR-WASHED BATIK..

I made this for today's technique challenge. What a super fun challenge. As I do not have sprayers, I just used my paintbrushes, which gave me more control. After embossing, I washed the tree in kiwi kiss. I started with a lighter wash, but decided I wanted more pop, so I added more ink. I then washed the background in baja breeze - a very light wash loaded with lots of water, while this was still wet. I dipped my paintbrush directly into a drop of pacific point and lightly touched the top my brush to the top of the paper, as it was already very wet it started to spead out I lifted the paper slightly so that the darker blue would run and spread out down the paper. I then stamped the smaller snowflakes in ridinghood red, cut then out, added some tiny bling to the centers and popped then up. I took my sakura glitter gel pen and went over the red flakes for some sparkle and added dots to the pacific point to look like tiny, twinkling stars (you may not be able to see these, it is very subtle, but has a beautiful effect). I skipped the last step of ironing onto printer paper. I liked how it looked and was afraid I would mess it up - LOL! So, I'm curious, how does the last step change the image?
Thanks for looking!

Stamps: snow swirled
Paper: ridinghood red, kiwi kiss, cold-pressed watercolor
Ink: versamark, kiwi kiss, baja breeze, pacific point, ridinghood red

DOILIES IN THE SNOW...

I made this for today's featured stamper and for a dare challenge issued by Anne aka Itsapassion. She sent everyone in our little group a piece of dsp along with a paper doily. YIKES! What to do with that doily??? Well, after I masacred it with my scissors, I just decided that part of what I cut out looked like snowflakes and went from there. The doilies are in the centers of the larger dark snowflakes. I then jazzed it up a bit with the brads and couldn't help myself with the dots. The layout is cased from the Featured Stamper. You can see her original card here. Thanks for looking.. and to Anne.. please don't send me any more doilies - geez! *wink*

Additional Info
Stamps: snow swirled
Paper: soft sky, night of navy, dsp, doily

CATCHING UP ON THE DARE CHALLENGES...

I am so glad to finally be back to creating! I finally made it downstairs to create something. These are two cards created for the Double Dare Challenge group.. check em out. The Frankenstein card is my favorite!

I just love this image. My good friend Tabby sent it to me a while back, and I have been just about to have a fit to use it on a card. I made this for the DDC... Charlene challenged us to make a card with color blocking. I have never done this type of card before, but after checking out the others, I think this is sorta what it is supposed to look like. I wasn't sure if I was to use a solid or a pattern, and since I love these patterned papers and bought them a YEAR ago for scrapbooking (yeah.. I'm waaaaay behind)... I decided to cut it up and use it on a card. I think it turned out well.

Additional Info
Stamps: Best Fiends
Paper: basic black, white, various dp
Ink: stazon, kiwi kiss, basic black
Accessories: aqua painter, SU! markers, silver bling for Franks bolts, black sharpie pen (my new fave pen)

I finally made some time to stamp..and I am so glad! I was afraid I had forgotten how to complete a challenge, I've been away soooo long - LOL! Anyway.. this card is for the Dare Challenge Group. Michelle challenged us to use a stamp or really anything that we had not used in a long time. I decided to mount this one. I've had it for while now and have never used it because 1. the stamp is larger that a regular card size (see it sticking up over the top) and 2. I never took the time to mount it to the wood block (lazy). So.. I really like this stamp.. just had to figure out exactly how to make it into a pretty card. This is also for the Color Challenge from last week or some time.. can't remember. I've been jotting them down on my "to do" list. Thank for looking! ... and cyber hugs to all my stamping buddies, I've been missing hanging out with you guys!

Additional Info
Stamps: from the garden
Paper: gp white, basic gray
Ink: craft black, ridinghood red
Accessories: clear ep, SU! markers, aqua painter, white signo pen

I DRINK COFFEE FOR YOUR PROTECTION...

Ok, we pause for a moment of self reflection. Check her out! Just woken up by the kids the morning after Halloween.. They (those kids) are pumped up on sugar! She, however, wanted to sleep in this morning because it is Saturday! As she approaches the kitchen all she can say is "Got coffee?" to her DH. HA! After I made this card, I came across one in the SCS gallery that had this sentiment "I drink coffee for your protection." I think that sentiment goes perfectly with this image... Next time, next time..
This card also meets or exceeds (LOL) the requirements for the following challenges...
Color Challenge 182 - Monochromatic card
Ways To Use It Challenge 182 - Designer Paper (check out that spider - YIKES!)
Limited Supply Challenge 182 (issued by Sylvia Mabie... check out her blog) - Orange Roasters: make a card using orange and a coffee image. Thanks Sylvia for a fun challenge!

Hope you have a laugh and a great day!

Sorry that I have been away for so long... This week just seemed to fly by and didn't leave me much time for stamping.. so, I decided to make up for it today with some really cute cards.
